Furlan Beeli was founded in 2016 by Giulia Furlan *1985 and Mario Beeli *1983.

Since the very beginning, Furlan Beeli has been committed to explore both the physical and ideational potential of architecture. As an integral part of their work, Giulia and Mario have engaged actively in teaching and research activities.

Their practice aims to make architecture with dimensions that reach beyond the limitations of the measurable. An architecture that belongs to the domain of imagination but which anyone is able to decode into a personal image that is exciting and meaningful. They seek to make architecture that can trigger an emotional sizing which goes beyond facts to carve deeper into the lives of those experiencing it fostering their ability to shape the world through personal feelings and thoughts. Their understanding of space, as a site of physical confrontation imbued with experiences and fantasies, has its roots in their fascination for enigmatic phenomena.

Giulia Furlan *1985 is an architect practicing and teaching in Milan and London. She studied architecture at the Academy of architecture of Mendrisio, and graduated in 2009. After working in London, Zurich and Balsthal, she founded her practice together with Mario Beeli. She has been teaching assistant at the chair of Valerio Olgiati in Mendrisio from 2011 until 2019. She is currently teaching at the AA in London.

Mario Beeli *1983 is an architect based in Zurich. He studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and graduated with Professor Christian Kerez. After graduating in 2009 he opened his practice. He has previously worked in the offices of Atelier Bow-Wow in Tokyo. From 2011 until 2015 he was teaching assistant for Valerio Olgiati at the Academy of architecture of Mendrisio.

Giulia and Mario are currently lecturing at the Accademia di architettura in Mendrisio.
